15 Reasons To Love Summer!

Aaah Summer! The weather is wonderful. Family and friends come together for memorable outdoor activities.

Vacations start! You can take in your town's local attractions, or jet set to exotic locations with family and friends.

There are numerous reasons to celebrate Summer; here are 15...

1. In the summer you can spend more time with your kids. Summer school closures give everyone more time to bond and play!

2. You can spend more time outside with your pets.

3. The weather is warm enough for family hikes.

4. You can go on lots of long bike rides with friends

5. Fishing trips go hand in hand with Summer. Go with family. Go with just your buddies.

6. Engage in competitive or fun outdoor sports activities such as tennis, golf, badminton, ping pong, water sports.

7. Time to enjoy water parks and Frisbee in the park with the kids.

8. Great time to take kids, young and old to visit the zoo.

9. Take a trip to a local farms or Farmer's Markets for some fresh, local fruits.

10. Take yourself and your family to a Summer carnival. Face painting is great for 'kids' of all ages.

11. Find a shady set of trees or any anchor and tie up a double-sized hammock. Park yourself in it and take the time to read a good book.

12. Have a long, leisurely breakfast on your porch.

13. When was the last time you were on a calm lake in a canoe? Take a small boat or canoe and paddle around for a few hours. Great time for conversation if you take a friend. And a great way to take in and appreciate nature.

14. Camping is a great way to enjoy the Summer. Whether you really rough it in a tent away from amenities, or at a camp ground where all the amenities are right at your fingertips. Camping with friends and family is a great way to get away during the hot Summer months.

15. Last but not least, since you have some time off... why not get the family together and go on an exciting family vacation to either Disneyland's or Disney World's Theme Park; or to an exotic location.

These types of trips are always memorable for the whole family, and if you can find a way to do it on a deep discount budget, then you can enjoy yourself even more, knowing you won't have to pay it off when you get back!

It is always great to make Summer about family, fun and frolic. Time is so precious and your most valued memories of those hot Summer months will be from the times you spent with those you love the most.

What's Involved With Honeymoon Cruise Packages?

With so many honeymoon cruise packages to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one will provide the most romantic and relaxing environment for you and your loved one. The following tips should be helpful to anyone planning for honeymoon cruise vacations.

Be sure to specifically inform your travel agent that this will be a honeymoon cruise; the cruise line will usually prepare special gifts for newlywed couples.

Decide with your new spouse the general area you would like to visit. When people think of honeymoon cruise vacations, the Carribean Sea is usually the first image that comes to mind. Most cruises do tend to cater to the sunbather, but there are incredible honeymoon cruises to hundreds of areas around all continents of the world. Consider them all before you leap forward with your plans!

Think about the size of the vessel before you book. The larger ships can host 3,000 passengers or more. It is literally like a little city on the sea! For a more private and personal setting, there are some which carry only a few dozen people at a time. These smaller yachts, however, are more unstable during storms and heavy winds. This turbulence can make some people nervous or even slightly ill. It's just something to keep in mind.

In addition to the vast list of amenities included in honeymoon cruises, there are items and activities which are billed separately. Some or all of your liquor and dining costs, plus casino games and souvenirs from the gift shop, are not likely to be included with the actual honeymoon cruise package. Keep these types of expenses in mind when you budget your vacation.

Carrying cash is risky, so it is common for the company to include a shipboard account which can be used to pay for any expenses you might incur during your voyage. This is much safer than carrying bundles of cash, but do resist the temptation to go "overboard" with your tab!

Be attentive to the clothing you bring along with you on the cruise. Most of the day will be very casual, with bathing suits and casual summerwear being the norm; however, many honeymoon cruise packages also include at least one night of formal entertainment where a dress code is in effect. The ship may also shore up in regions of the world where fairly conservative attire is expected from visitors. Bring a nice variety of clothing and you should be just fine.

The most important piece of advice is to thoroughly plan for everything in advance. If you're fully prepared, your honeymoon cruise will be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable times of your life.

How To Choose A Vacation With Your Children

So, you've decided to go on a family vacation - but where to? There are several different places that you can go with your whole family, and some of them are better than others.
When you're thinking about traveling with children, especially, you should definitely make that a major deciding point when you're trying to figure out where to go.

The most common travel mistake with children is Las Vegas or Reno in Nevada. While the tourism industries of both cities have been trying to make the towns into family vacation destinations (Las Vegas a bit more than Reno), these towns are not originally geared toward family.

Both Las Vegas and Reno offer very little attractions for children. And they do not offer anything special which cannot be found elsewhere. If you are thinking about visiting Las Vegas, perhaps you are hoping for at least some gambling. Gambling does not bode well for a successful family vacation with children.

Where traveling with children is concerned, some of the perennial favorites are the Disney theme parks. These parks are ideal for children between the ages of five and twelve - though they are still fun for older children! However, it's recommended that you wait until your children are old enough to walk. If you bring a child who is younger than three years old, the chances are that he or she will not remember the trip at all.

You should keep in mind, however, that Disney parks are an energetic vacation destination. These are not good places to go for a relaxing time, since they tend to be crowded, and there is always something new to go and see. With younger children, expect cranky afternoons.

For a more relaxed family vacation, you should think about a destination like Hawaii. While Hawaii is not geared specifically toward children, there are still plenty of things for you to do depending on which island you're staying on.

Hawaii is a good choice for slightly older children -- let~s say over ten -- because many of its attractions are geared to individuals over that age. For instance Pearl Harbor ~ younger children will have no way to understand what is so special about that place.

Cruise ships are also worth considering for family vacations, though there are a few things you should consider. First, if you go on a cruise, it's very likely that your family will be sharing living quarters, and things can be a little cramped. This isn't too bad, however, since chances are good that you'll only be in your cabin to sleep
- there's so much going on that you won't want to stay cooped up.

You should also consider that cruise ship vacations may not be the best choice for teenagers. This is due to the fact that most of the children's programs are designed for children 12 and under, and teenagers are not quite old enough to participate in the entertainment designed for adults (for instance, lounges and casinos). The benefit of a cruise is that you'll get to see breathtaking ocean views and visit several different ports. Keep your eyes open for whales!

The conclusion is that choosing the destination for your family vacation is firmly up to you! You are the one who knows best what is interesting for your children and what is not. Take into account what is suitable for them and what is preferred by you, choose a destination or vacation package which offers the best combination of things which appeal to all of you -- and you're halfway to a great trip already.

Travel Tips to America

Are you visiting America for the first time? It is exciting and thrilling isn't

it? Can't blame you for that good feeling because if you have been issued travel

documents to enter the US, you are one of the lucky ones!

Imagine, there are millions of people all around the world who wish to visit the

United States of America but more than two-thirds of those who applied for a US

visa are denied for some reasons! So congratulate yourself that you have your US

visa.

Always remember that having a visa is not the end of your struggle to have one.

It is just the beginning of more thrills ahead. For one thing, as you enter the

United States of America, you will go through the port of entries where

immigration officials will still determine if you can come in through the doors of

the country. If you got your visa fraudulently, you can be caught and be

deported!

If you are coming to the US as a tourist, the immigration officers at the port of

entry will also determine how long you will be granted to stay in the US.

Legally, you are only allowed to stay in the US only on the amount of time you are

granted by the immigrations officers. If you overstay, you become an over staying

alien and would be subject to possible deportation. However, you may apply for an

extension of stay. Your application for extension, however, does not guarantee

approval.

Remember, if you come to the US only as a tourist, you are simply regarded as a

visitor. Having a tourist visa does not grant you a working permit. This means

that a tourist is never allowed to work anywhere in the US.

Since you are visiting the US as a tourist, enjoy your vacation as there are lots

of places to go where you will really enjoy. When you go places, if you have a

credit card, you can make an online hotel

reservations. All you need is an access to a computer with internet access.

If you plan to have long travels within the US, public transportation is available

either by bus or air transportation. In the US mainland, the Greyhound Bus

Company provides interstate bus transportation. The only exception is if you plan

to go to Hawaii or Alaska.

If going by air, a lot of airline companies are available. An airline reservations is also possible online. Air travel can bring you to any of the 50 states of the USA.

Well, welcome to America!

How To Survive Your Honeymoon

Romantic Honeymoon Destinations To Discover Each Other

Once you've mortgaged the rest of your life for the dress and the ceremony, made all sorts of promises in front of everyone you know and danced with your long-lost fifth cousin twice removed, you deserve a little time off to recuperate. It's called a honeymoon.

Your honeymoon is that wonderful period of grace between the fantasy of your wedding and the reality of simply being an old married couple. It's a time for the two of you to get to know each other as well as two people who are going to spend the next couple of days alone with only each other for company can. But not so alone that you can't ring for room service when you need it.

According to a recent survey by Modern Bride magazine, newlyweds are certainly not loathe to shell out when it comes to spending up on their honeymoon - on average, newlyweds spend $3,700 on their honeymoon. For the average wage earner, that's almost 10% of their annual income.

Honeymoon spending is high for a number of reasons. Firstly, for most of us it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to live it up, favoring luxurious resorts and exotic cruises over a two-star just-off-the-highway motel. And the honeymoon is generally not the time for going to stay with mad old Aunty Gladys who you haven't seen since you were five. No, honeymooners want their day in the sun, a time to luxuriate in the newness of coupledom and they are usually looking for something special. So if that means ordering that second bottle of champagne, or deciding on the lobster for dinner, most honeymooners don't give it a second thought.

To compile their list of Top 10 honeymoon destinations, the Modern Bride survey factored in romance, ambience, affordability, seclusion, culture and adventure amongst its list of important qualities. Here are the results for overall excellence:

1.Hawaii
2. Jamaica
3. Mexico
4.Tahiti
5. St Lucia
6. Italy
7. US Virgin Islands
8. Aruba
9. Las Vegas
10. Bermuda

While there are no real surprises on the list, the surprise is that there are not more distant, out-of-the-way places in the Top 10. Which only goes to prove that even honeymooners want value for money and the chance to explore new territory - but not too far from home. Of course, Italy is the one exception, but who couldn't imagine romantic visions of strolling through vineyards in Tuscany, or sipping grappa in a trattoria in Venice?

If your honeymoon is still in the planning phase, or even if you've already got your heart set on an exotic honeymoon destination, it's worth visiting our article Romantic Honeymoon Destinations at www.Engagement-Rings-Guide.com.

Although most of the destinations we've included are in the "let's max out the Amex card" type honeymoon, we've also included plenty of useful information for the more budget conscious "we smashed open the piggy bank to pay for this" honeymoon traveller in our Honeymoon Tips guide.

Just don't forget, it's YOUR honeymoon and one of the few chances most of us get to indulge a little. So whether that's the little village down the road you always wanted to visit or some exotic location, the most important honeymoon tip I can give you is HAVE FUN!

Bon voyage!

Traveling on a Budget? Try These Money-Saving Vacation Ideas

If your spirit of adventure is larger than your travel budget, these money-saving tips might just put your next vacation within reach.

1. Swap homes with other vacationers
If you prefer to mingle with the locals rather than other tourists, look into a home exchange vacation. One couple spent their eight-week honeymoon touring Europe without ever staying in a hotel; instead, they stayed in private homes while their European hosts stayed in their New York City apartment. Sound risky? Maybe—but tens of thousands of people have exchanged homes since the 1950s. For an annual membership fee (usually around $50), home exchange clubs help members arrange exchanges, as well as offering tips to make the exchange go smoothly. According to ExchangeHomes.com, a home exchange can cut travel costs by as much as half. More importantly, though, a home exchange vacation makes it possible for you to live like the locals, and perhaps make some life-long friends.

2. Rely on the hospitality of others
In a slight twist on the home exchange idea, look into joining a hospitality club that will hook you up with people willing to host you on your next vacation. The largest hospitality club has more than 23,000 members in 148 countries. Membership is usually free, although members are asked to provide hospitality to others (on a voluntary basis) in return sometime in the future. In addition to saving money, staying with others is a great way to meet locals who can give an insider’s perspective on your destination.

3. Stay in a monastery or convent
Monasteries and convents have a long tradition of providing hospitality to travelers. Aside from being a lot more interesting (and affordable) than the local Holiday Inn, a monastery can be a great place to explore your spiritual landscape. Many monasteries and convents ask for a donation of $40 to $80 per night; others only ask for a free-will offering. In addition to simple accommodations, monasteries and convents often offer their guests simple meals as well as opportunities to participate in daily prayer and work. Reservations may be required in advance. You can research this vacation idea by looking up individual monasteries or convents online. Or get a guidebook such as “Europe's Monastery and Convent Guesthouses: A Pilgrim's Travel Guide” or “Sanctuaries: The Complete United States: A Guide to Lodgings in Monasteries, Abbeys, and Retreats.”

4. Win a free vacation
Nothing in life is free, the old adage goes, but the vacations many companies are giving away as part of promotional sweepstakes and contests come close. True, the odds of winning a free vacation are remote, but if you’ve ever played the lottery, you may as well spend a few minutes searching the web for “vacation contest” and related terms. The only cost of entering will probably be the time it takes to fill out online entry forms. (Be forewarned, though, that providing your e-mail address virtually guarantees unsolicited e-mail in the future.)

5. Sleep under the stars
Hoping to vacation in Hawaii or the U.S. Virgin Islands? Rather than spending a fortune on hotels or resorts, why not slash the cost of your accommodations by camping on the beach? Both destinations have parks that offer beachside camping for about $20 per night. Camping is an affordable alternative at virtually any destination, in fact. And camping doesn’t necessarily mean “roughing it.” Modern camping equipment can keep you as warm and comfortable as if you were sleeping at home (decent sleeping bags and sleeping pads are a must), and many campgrounds offer conveniences such as showers and running water. Some even rent basic but comfortable cabins.

6. Travel in the off season
It may be obvious to seasoned travelers, but those with less experience may not be aware of how affordable it can be to vacation in the “off season”—basically, any time other than when most people travel to your destination. Certain destinations’ accommodation and airfare prices may be slashed by 30 percent or more during the off-season compared to the peak travel season.

7. Consider your airline alternatives
When booking airfare online, don’t overlook discount and international airlines—some are not listed on the big travel portal websites, even though they might have a lower fare to your destination. Also be sure to compare rates for alternate airports within a reasonable traveling distance. You might live half an hour from a major airport, but the smaller airport a couple hours away might have substantially lower fares. Check for alternate airports near your destination, too. Finally, be flexible about your arrival and departure dates; the major travel portals all have options to search for the cheapest flights within a range of dates. Any one of these alternatives could potentially save you hundreds of dollars.

Fun things to do on your vacation!!!

That’s the intent of this article, to wake up some ideas in your head, and plan for things to do in Florida and any of your travels.

When we venture down to Florida or anywhere for that fact of the matter, we first figure out what activities we definitely don’t want to miss. Here is our list of favorite things to do on vacation…

1. Sit on the beach and play in the ocean. This is a no brainer. We love to walk the beach, bathe in the sun, play in the waves, and watch the beautiful people.
What types of things do you do on your vacation? What activities do you have planned? Do you relax, go active, or a little of both?
2. Play golf. Golf is a great game. There are excellent golf courses all over the world to choose from and you can even plan an entire golf vacation.

3. Go fishing. Deep sea fishing or fishing from a pier is a blast. If you have never done this try it once, you’ll love it.

4. Other sporting activities like scuba, snorkeling, water skiing, parasailing, renting jet skis, or whatever. There are a ton of water activities to choose from.

5. Day trips and tours are awesome choices. Rent a boat for the day. Take a barefoot cruise. Venture over to Orlando and go to Disney World or any theme park. Dinner cruises, exploring, hiking, tours at local sites, and anything else that you can think of.

6. Go shopping! Yes, the ladies will love this one and probably already have it planned. I hate to shop, but it is actually fun when I am on vacation. It wears me out though. Take some extra money and visit the local shops, find souvenirs, and spend some of that hard-earned money.

7. Drive around. We have rented convertibles or motorcycles for a couple of days and just explored the area. One time, we went from Miami to Key West and spent the day there. Another time, we traveled up the A1A highway along the Atlantic Coast of Florida, enjoying the luxurious homes, yachts, and views. You can even do this as a weekend getaway. Find a cool spot that’s only 6 hours or less away and take off. We always have fun doing this.

8. Take in local entertainment, events, restaurants, and such. Go dancing, find the best watering holes, do something romantic, party likes its 1999. Remember, you are on vacation and it’s time to have some fun and do stuff you don’t usually get to do at home.

The list is as endless as your imagination. These are just a few general ideas that we always plan on doing. Be creative and try new things.

Enjoy your trip, have a good time, and tell us your stories!!

Honeymoon Vacation Ideas can be Economical

The purpose of the honeymoon vacation is only minimally to live for a few days like extravagant royalty. The real purpose is for and your loved one to have the most beautiful and memorable experience of your lives. Decide exactly how much you really can afford to spend, and spend it all (but not more). It's always good to be frugal, but don't be stingy! After all, this is your honeymoon.

Honeymoon vacations are even more important than your typical week away from work. Do all the planning in advance - and make contingency plans, as well - to make sure you and your spouse will be totally free from stress for the entire occasion.

A travel agent will have an array of honeymoon vacation packages for destinations all over the world. These include a stay at an all-inclusive resort, a rental vehicle, and a schedule of various activities for your entertainment. Since just about everything is included in the price of the package, you can end up paying less than if you had booked it all separately.

A "prefab" honeymoon vacation package will provide some bang for your buck, but there are also some issues to keep in mind. For one thing, there is only so much that can be done to customize the experience to your preferences - and doing this can add to the price. During certain times of the year, the more traditional honeymoon vacation spots can be teeming with tourists and fellow honeymooners. Ask your travel agent for some statistics to help you book a destination during its off-peak season.

Not many people have the budget to fly around the planet or pay the price of hand-and-foot service at a posh resort. There are many ways to create the romantic ambience and enjoy the perfect honeymoon vacation with even the smallest of budgets. For example, everyone seems to associate honeymoon vacations with travel. It's as if there were no romantic getaways within 1,000 miles of anybody's home. That is obviously crazy, since there are probably couples visiting their own honeymoon vacation spots within a few miles of you right now!

Instead of setting your sights on the ancient monuments of Europe or South America, look first in your own locale. In all likelyhood, you can build the ideal honeymoon vacation package without even leaving your state. It won't include the glamour of flying to an exotic, remote island, but all that money you would have spent on plane tickets and passports can go toward even better things.

5 Ways to Choose Your Hotel

You are planning a holiday abroad for your family, and want everyone to have a good time. You surf the internet for hotel descriptions, but from the pictures that you see and what you read, all hotels project a perfect image of themselves. How can you tell which ones are better? You have never been there and know no one at your destination. At the same time, you don’t want a hotel room that will bust your budget. How do you choose?

Check Independent Hotel Ratings
Well, the first step you can take is to visit hotel search engines for guest ratings for hotels represented by the search engines. In addition to pre-negotiated rates with individual hotels, most agents ask for ratings and comments from previous guests. Reading their comments will give you a fair idea on what to expect from the hotels located in your destination. Be sure to read a few comments in order to get a fair overview. Certain incidences described may only be rare occurrences that may already have been corrected.

Hotel Chains and Facilities
Are they part of an international hotel chain? Most international chains have stringent standards that are adhered to as well as a standard theme across all chains. They may have similar facilities (health clubs, spas, business centers, etc) which are important to maintain the hotel’s high standards. Other things you can look out for include concierge, shuttle services to the city, airport transfers as well as good laundry services.

Location
Perhaps one of the most critical things when selecting a hotel is its location. Hotels that are near to shopping areas, train stations or the city center charge higher rates as compared to those located elsewhere. Analyze a map of the area before you book to determine the nearest shopping areas or access to trains which will give you much convenience in moving around. Also, check with the hotel if they have any large tour groups coming in at the same time. Hotels charge higher rates during high occupancy periods and do not have the flexibility of late check-outs. These are important aspects which, if overlooked, may affect your tour schedule as well as your impression of the hotel’s level of hospitality.

Rates and Discounts
Hotel rates are a huge factor when it comes to choosing a hotel. However, paying more does not necessarily mean that you will receive an equivalent level of service and standards. One of the ways to maximize on prices would be check if they are part of an alliance with flights or car rental companies, which offer discounts to customers of their allies. Sometimes, credit card companies offer their cardholders exclusive rates to special hotels which can be pretty attractive. Additionally, if it’s possible to use your frequent flyer points to redeem hotel discounts, this could help reduce hotel costs as well.

Boutique Hotels
Finally, apart from chain hotels, boutique hotels may are great alternatives for romantic getaways for couples or families seeking hotels of a more distinctive theme. Many boutique hotels have fewer rooms but offer more value added services such as spas within the bedroom, breakfasts in bed or even in-room massages. In the end, your choice of hotel really depends on what you want out of your holiday.

You may visit Hotels Search EU PTY LTD to find the most trusted hotels at top destinations across the world.

Make your honeymoon an everlasting experience

Honeymoon is the most wonderful time of every couple’s life. It is a time to move away from all the hustle and bustle and to relax in the arms of your partner in your own world. Such a special occasion demands some planning. Planning can make your honeymoon worthwhile.

Talk amongst yourself and discuss which is the place that both of you like. If you both want to keep your honeymoon confined to your state, surely United States is a perfect place to enjoy the exclusive moments. You can opt for the breathtaking city of New York, the dynamic city of Las Vegas, Chicago with its adorable summers or the ecstatic Michigan Avenue South in winters. If you are an admirer of beaches, the spell bound beaches of Miami are always a perfect and open option. Honeymoons within your state are relatively less expensive than those planned abroad. But the excitement and the exuberance is the same in both the cases.

If you want to freak out abroad with your partner, there are several places to go. The awesome and romantic places in New England like Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Newport, Maine’s seacoast and so forth have their own charm that magnetizes the honeymoon couples. Not to forget are the superlative and incredible Niagara Falls and the Great Smoky Mountains. These are some of the evergreen honeymoon destinations that are thronged and adored by the couples.
Besides your discretion also consider the weather and the climatic conditions of the place you plan to explore. For instance in the case of extreme cold a move to a warm and cozy destination is an excellent idea.

Budget is always the highest parameter to plan any thing. Just calculate the amount that you can spend on your honeymoon without a second thought. If you have a low budget, try to minimize the luxuries. For instance staying in a five star hotel, traveling through Cruise etc. can be cut down upon. You can take up an average hotel room and eat the food at a local restaurant. But don’t commit the mistake of staying at your friend’s or relative’s house. For that will leave you with least privacy and tremendous frustration. It is also better not to opt for a place, which is too expensive according to you for this can land you into soup.

Always decide the means to travel to your destination according to your budget. If your budget does not allow you to take a first class seat in the plane, go for a second class. If you propose to stick to your state, driving is never a bad option. Generally during the wedding season all the airlines, cruises and travel agencies provide some special packages especially for the honeymoon couples. These packages provide ample of facilities and at a comparatively low cost than usual. It is a nice idea to avail these opportunities.

Take a travel agent that can advise and inform you about the different honeymoon spots, latest and beneficial packages, the cost etc. according to your budget. You can also search it out yourself at the internet.
Last but not the least avoid taking heavy luggage with you. This gives a chance to shop around and buy memorable things from your honeymoon destination. If you are making a trip overseas get travel insurance done to have a carefree and happy journey. Also keep all the essentials like your credit cards, medicines, creams, camera, some foodstuff and the like for it is better to have your own things than to hunt for them at a new place.

So keep these tips in mind that make your honeymoon best amongst the rest!

Mexico's Riviera Maya: A Beautiful Beach Resort Destination

Travelers who are looking for a fantastic all-inclusive resort destination that is priced far below most tropical destinations in and around the Caribbean should look into Mexico’s Riviera Maya. This area has fast become a very popular tropical vacation getaway for travelers from around the world. The Riviera Maya is located on the Caribbean side of Mexico and encompasses the stretch of coastline ranging from about 5 miles to 60 miles south of Cancun.

Don’t be misled into thinking that because you fly into Cancun to get to the Riviera Maya that it is anything like Cancun and its spring break, party-like atmosphere…it is far from it. The Riviera Maya has been set aside by the Mexican government as a semi-protected area, and as such it cannot become the touristy, high-rise resort type of destination you find in the Cancun hotel zone. Resorts can only be built 3-stories or less in height and they have to be constructed to embrace the surrounding vegetation, wildlife, and topography. It is a much more family-friendly and romantic vacation destination.

Resorts in the Riviera Maya are primarily all-inclusive properties. Because of the remote locations of many of the properties there are very few offsite dining areas. All-inclusive resorts give the traveler the benefit of having everything paid for prior to their arrival. All meals, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), non-motorized watersports, and other amenities are included in package prices. The more upscale all-inclusive resorts of 4-star and higher quality typically have many different restaurant options ranging from buffet to world-class a la carte cuisine….all-included! Some of the more popular resort chains in the Riviera Maya include Iberostar Resorts, Palace Resorts, and Secrets Resorts & Spas. Resorts run anywhere from more family-related types of properties or resorts for the budget-minded to very upscale adults-only spa resorts.

One of the best reasons to choose the Mexico Riviera Maya for your next vacation is not just for the superb quality resorts and great value, but also for the fantastic tours and excursions that are available in around the Yucatan Peninsula region. This area is teeming with Mayan ruins and ancient architecture that are very popular with tourists. The most majestic of the local Mayan ruins are the pyramids of Chichen Itza. These incredibly preserved pyramids date back to 400AD and this awe-inspiring tour will leave with you many wonderful memories. There are many other Mayan ruins tours you can take as well. In addition to ruins you can also experience many eco-based tours that take you to game and marine preserves where you will find amazing wildlife and snorkeling that is nothing short of amazing. Another popular day-trip for those staying in the Riviera Maya region is the island of Cozumel. You can reach this quaint island by ferry from the town of Playa del Carmen located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. It is a short 45 minute ferry ride and once there you will find duty-free shopping, great dining, and some of the world’s best SCUBA diving and snorkeling.

If you have taken tropical vacations in the Caribbean or Hawaii and are looking for a new destination to visit, the Riviera Maya is an excellent choice that will definitely impress and have you ready to come back to again and again.

Romantic Getaway Vacation

When planning your romantic getaway vacation, recognize that part of the romance can be the creativity and excitement of exploring a new place with that special someone. Here are three examples of places that offer a more romantically intimate and private experience, and may be even more rewarding than, say, a vacation to Vegas.

Utah’s Homestead Resort is nestled in quaint and beautiful Heber Valley. The resort’s 154 rooms provide a mixed style of the modern, with nostalgia for the early 1900’s. Within forty-five minutes of tourist hot spots Park City and Sundance, the Homestead experience offers something for everyone: a luxurious 18-hole golf course, scuba diving and swimming in the famous 90 degree mineral water crater, ice and fly-fishing, world-renowned downhill and cross-country skiing, horseback riding, spas, river rafting, snowmobiling, gourmet restaurants, outlet shopping, and boating (not to mention a historic railroad through beautiful Provo canyon, tennis, biking, winter sleigh rides, hot air ballooning, professional theaters, hiking, Timpanogos caves, and Wasatch Mountain State and Uinta National Parks). The Homestead either offers, or is in close proximity to all of that, while still maintaining that intimate, secluded feeling you are looking for. For more information call (800) 327-7220 or visit http://www.homesteadresort.com).

The Cook Islands is the place if you want something more intriguing than the stereotypical Hawaii island vacation. This cluster of fifteen islands is found in the very heart of the South Pacific. The beautiful and friendly Polynesian people of this area (population 14,000) provide an example of a unique culture and language all their own. Explore Polynesian handicrafts, including unique Cook-Island tivaevae quilts, wall hangings, jewelry, handbags, hats, and artifacts made from the beautiful tapa flower.

Its capital, Rarotonga, receives approximately 70,000 visitors a year, but the Cooks are largely unspoiled by tourism. They offer a rare opportunity for people from the cities of the world to experience a different type of vacation, one without tourist traps and giant hotels. With less pampering comes the untouched, empty beaches and a sanctuary of peace away from everything. Surrounded by a gorgeous view of deep blue waters, beautiful coral, narrow lagoons, and a cool ocean breeze, you’ll find yourself exploring, talking, and completely relaxed.

Scotland is rich with history and culture. Ancient castles with Celtic names like Duntulm, Dumbarton, Huntingtower, Doune, and Eilean Donan dot the landscape. With a few in ruins, other castles are still intact and some are even inhabited. Many are situated overlooking the ocean, atop high cliffs—gorgeous and hauntingly beautiful.

You will find that all of Scotland is rich in heritage and lore. Consider a visit to Stirling Castle, for example. It is believed to have been the site of King Arthur’s Camelot. (Mary Queen of Scots also spent much of her childhood in these walls). You will also find yourself in Scotland’s highlands, isles, and towns-- and if the fog is not too thick, you will see rainbows everywhere.

Glasgow Cathedral, built in the thirteenth century, is found in a city brimming with culture and entertainment, and yes…even shopping.

Lodging in Scotland includes incredible options, and is sure to accommodate your romantic style. For a spectacular view, try Mar Hall, a gothic mansion built in the nineteenth century (visit www.marhall.com). For a cozier setting, stay at Portree, located on the Isle of Skye—an old hunting lodge (…roaring fire included). (visit www.cuillinhills.demon.co.uk). Huntingtower Lodge provides culture, with all the comforts of home. This four-star hotel definitely caters to an American taste with a lot of fancy extras, including internet access (visit www.huntingtower.co.uk).
